2009 Women's Retreat
"The Journey to God: Experiences of the Mystics"

A mystic is one who seeks God above all else and experiences God in a profound way.
Who are the mystics? What lessons can we learn from them?
Our retreat will involve participating in the prayer practices of the mystics,
and examining how their struggles taught them to
experience the joys of serving God to transform the world.

Saturday, April 18th - Sunday, April 19th
at Camp Buckner near Kingsland
Cost is $65 (full and partial scholarships are available)

We will be led by Rebecca Guengerich, Spritual Director
Register by April 5th. Forms are available in the narthex.

2007 Retreat
"Gifts for Sharing"

One of St. Peter's Guiding Principles is "Each of us has gifts for sharing."
The 2007 women's retreat explored just what our gifts are,
and just how we can go about sharing them!

BIBLE STUDIES: WELCA sponsors four Bible Study Circles including one evening circle.

MEETINGS: During the summer, three daytime circles combine for a Bible Study with Pastor Casey on the third Thursday of each month. Regular meetings of WELCA  are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at church, but check the schedule! Often WELCA schedules a luncheon or other event.

QUILTING: From September through May, WELCA members meet for a morning of service each month. Usually time is spent making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and sometimes health kits or school kits are assemble. Each year WELCA ships a large load of quilts and other supplies to Lutheran World Relief for use in other lands.

QUILTS, QUILTS, QUILTS! FOR LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF

Each year WELCA makes many, many quilts and also assembles school and hygiene kits to be distributed to the needy around the world. The quilts are used for warmth, shelter, and many basic life preserving purposes in third world countries.

Some of the 2003 "Quilt Crop" on April 6, the Sunday they were dedicated before being sent abroad.
