During her studies at UT she was involved in many campus groups including Lutheran Campus Ministry where she served on the council and coordinated efforts to reach out to incoming freshmen students.

In addition to her duties at St. Peter’s, Pastor Casey also serves the greater church through her involvement with the Commission for Congregational Life and particularly the synod’s School of Mission.  She is extremely excited to have been elected as a voting member to the ELCA’s 2007 Churchwide Assembly.

Pastor Casey has special interest in teaching, worship, creative dance, and drama. She enjoys sharing her gift of dance in the congregation by teaching and performing liturgical dance, and she enjoys sharing her gift of drama through storytelling gospel lessons at worship services.  Pastor Casey is married to Eric, a molecular biologist with the Department of State Health Services.  They were blessed with the birth of their daughter Brecken in March 2009.

DON TRAPP, Music

Don was born and raised a Lutheran in St. Paul, MN, which is where Don’s extended family continues to reside.  He received a Bachelors of Music Education from Wartburg College where he met his wife Faith, and graduated in 1969.  The day after graduation, the two were married at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA where Faith’s father, Dr. William Weiblen, was serving as a professor.

Don’s career in music began as a band director in various communities of Iowa and Texas, leaving high school teaching in 1988. During this teaching period he completed a Masters degree in music at the University of Nebraska. In 1988 Faith’s work took them to Europe. They spent 3 years in England and 6 years in Germany. During this time Don changed his emphasis from instrumental music to choral music. While in Europe, he took the opportunity to do a lot of singing, some conducting (including church and community choirs) and a good deal of study. Don’s singing allowed him to perform in some of the great venues of Europe with some of the world’s finest orchestras.

Upon returning to the USA in 1997, he began looking for opportunities to work as a music director in a church. In the autumn of 1999 he began to work at a large Lutheran church in Plano, Texas. During this period he also sang with the Dallas Symphony Chorus. Once again, following Faith’s work we moved to New York City. There he became active in the music of Riverside Church. The Trapps moved to Horseshoe Bay in February of 2008. Don’s spare time is taken up with golf, travel, cooking and gardening.
